Can God be Trusted? Romans 3:3-4
Monday Jul 22, 2024
Monday Jul 22, 2024
Pastor Kohl continues his series on Romans with Romans 3:3-4. Here Paul asks the question does the unbelief of the Jews (their falling away from God) make God's faithfulness without effect? We can ask today, if seeming Christians fall away from the faith does that prove that God's promises of perseverance and keeping His own to the end are lies? The answer, of course, is no, for God cannot lie. It is against His very nature. God's promises of keeping His own chosen ones are sure, but the question is who is His own? In this sermon, Pastor Kohl delves into this.

What advantage then has the Jew? In our day, we could say what advantage to having grown up in the church, to having been baptized if it doesn't save us?

Romans 2:17-29; Forgiven Much/Loving Much
Monday Jul 08, 2024
Monday Jul 08, 2024
In this sermon, Pastor Kohl continues in Romans 2:17-29, where Paul continues to delve into the brokenness of humanity this time focusing on the religious Jews themselves. Men who were confident that they were doing everything right and, yet, they had failed, too. The sign of circumcision could not save, only the transformation of a circumcised heart through the work of Jesus can truly save. We have all failed. It is out of the awareness of our deep sin and need for a savior that our love for Jesus and His gift to us grows.
Luke 7:36-47

Romans 1:1 Paul
Monday May 27, 2024
Monday May 27, 2024
In this sermon, Pastor Kohl looks at the author of Romans. Who was Paul? Paul ran with very important people, he had a magnificent resume. Yet, he hated Jesus, how dare Jesus call Himself God. But, that would change, when he met Jesus on the road. Even Paul's name changes after his encounter. He was formerly known as Saul in Acts and yet, afterword called Paul. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." 2 Cor 5:17
