Sunday May 07, 2023
Sunday May 07, 2023
Pastor Kohl in this sermon delves into the purpose both of John's writing and the scriptures in general.
John 20:29-31 says, "Jesus said to him, 'Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.' And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name."

Road To Emmaus; Luke 24:13-33
Sunday Apr 16, 2023
Sunday Apr 16, 2023
John 20:10 says the disciples went away again to their own homes. Though the gospel of John doesn't talk about the journey home, Luke does in Luke 24:13-33. On the road to Emmaus a nearby town, Jesus met two of them whose eyes were restrained so that they couldn't recognize Him and instead of just revealing Himself, He revealed how all of scripture points to Him. In a sense, this was Jesus exemplifying how to do apologetics. In this sermon, Pastor Kohl speaks on this story, the surety of God's word, and how the whole Bible points to Jesus.

The End of Despair; John 19:31-37
Sunday Mar 12, 2023
Sunday Mar 12, 2023
Pastor Kohl speaks on John 19:31-37. When Jesus was put to death on the cross and was buried; the disciples must have wondered, where is God? Why would He do this? Yet, God was there, God had a plan. Every part of the Jesus's death was foretold in scripture despite how scary it looked and God was using it for great, great good. So we, too, can depend on God and His promises in scripture no matter how dark the situation looks, because we know God and know that He is faithful.
